Paintball, scoppia la guerra (di vernice)

Spararsi addosso vernice colorata.
Tuttavia, è lecito riconoscersi compensi come amministratori.

Shoot wearing colored paint. A new game arrives in Italy. And someone already thinking about the business. It's called paintball. Here's how not to get hurt
It is a game with two teams whose purpose is to eliminate opponents to plant colorful paint strokes (paintball) shot with airguns. And now that you have overcome the impediments of law, someone in Italy is thinking about the business. Warning: this activity is at the limit, the safety factor is key, you have to play with protections resistant paint guns and use only low power. Millionaire urges caution.
Born in the 80's in America, where guns paint (so-called markers) were used to mark trees to be felled, paintball has spread to Europe and is conquering the Italian public. Do not confuse this with the airsoft, here you do not play "war" with strokes of plastic bullets. To reduce the risk of injury, today is practiced almost everywhere the speedball: the "battle" takes place within a properly fenced terrain and obstacles lurking to strike the blow to the enemy are made from inflatable PVC.
"In Italy the paintball fields are forty, but there is space for 150-200" says Fabio De Rosa, president of the paintball Grosseto (www.paintballgrosseto.com) and national secretary of the sector federation for the section speedball. "For some time I was looking for a market in which to invest. Five years ago I was in LA and I imbattutto in paintball. I evaluated all aspects, studied the cost and within a couple of years we started with the paintball fields in Italy. For the field it takes at least 1,000 square meters, in an area accessible, or you can arrange to make it happen in a sports center already exists, private or public, "comments De Rosa. With the lighting you can take advantage of the structure until late in the evening, while a field covered with synthetic grass allows to play even in bad weather. "Almost all systems provide the structure for birthday parties, bachelor parties, barbecues and so on. and are an increasing number of companies that will organize team building days for the staff, "say the paintball Bergamo (www.paintballbergamo.it). In addition to the traditional advertising, to be known, are required days free trial with professional teachers and the organization of some tournament. Essential Internet site, Facebook profile, and chat in the largest Italian community in the industry: www.paintballforum.com. In summer, therefore they fail to do 1,500-2,000 users per month.
Investments
To build a tennis serve as a speedball 20 thousand to 40 thousand Euros, depending on equipment and accessories, including inflatables, nets, poles, purchase of the equipment to be made available to the players (at least 15 complete equipment, see box), paintball, compressor or scuba tank to charge the markers, chemical toilets and a small prefabricated for the secretariat. In addition, if you do a indoor court, it takes at least 30 thousand-40 thousand euro for the football coverage. According to the entrepreneurs already active in the field, you can return from the investment in about 12 months. "In addition to entry that typically have between 15 and 30 euro, also depending on whether one or two hours of play, players pay the paintball shooting in game: 4 thousand 5 thousand-and even more, when playing for the first few times. In the South, the prices are lower by 30-40%, but in the north a box with 2 thousand balls can cost 80-100 euro, "says Matthew Gottardis, president of Paintball in Venice, Mestre opened a couple of years ago (www. paintballvenezia.it). On average, each player spends 30 euro: in the case of most common game in which there are two teams of five people plus the changes, you can cash 500 euro in turn. The yield of the field is higher in the case of a team building for which you ask for up to 2 thousand 3 thousand Euros for a half-day. "In the spring you can do even 15 thousand-20 thousand euro per month, while in winter the work falls and some fields open by appointment only," says Fabio De Rosa. "We must then add the proceeds of refreshment that never fails, even if only a few kiosk or vending machine." Some plants sell the equipment from the game (see box), including through the site. Overall the facilities were better organized revenues of over EUR 200 thousand per year. " And the cost? "During the week, just a couple of employees, while the weekend we are working in three to four," explains Gottardis.
Management costs
In addition to the balls (you may be able to pay 16 euro box), the main costs relate to the lease of the land (from 300 to 600 Euros per month if privately owned), electricity, water, advertising, insurance and those bureaucratic costs, remuneration of the coaches for internships professionals. In the end, it remains a 70-80% of revenue. The paintball fields are almost all non-profit sports clubs, which by law can not share the profits among the founders. However, it is permissible to recognize compensation as directors.
Millionaire urges caution, and those who do business both those who play. "In our country, for a new entrepreneur is not easy to understand and correctly interpret the provisions of the bureaucratic regulations that frequently vary at the local level," explains Antonio Montefinale, founder of Creaimpresa (www.creaimpresa.it). "Many issues can be resolved by addressing the associations."
The bureaucracy
as it begins
In Italy, the paintball does not have a separate regulations. In the meantime, to minimize the risk of claims of illegality, it is good to refer to the legislation and standards of the fields in countries such as France and Germany, where the game is strengthened by years.
That said, here are the steps to get started.
Legal personality. It is common practice constitute an amateur sports association (ASD) that can be accessed only members, but they can also be entered at the time. Recommended provide a broad statute that allows to offer numerous services, primarily the point of comfort.
Ground. The playing area is generally between 1,000 and 1,500 square meters, but there is also some larger field. Just as the space needed between bars, equipment storage, parking etc.. The soil should have a destination to use sports facilities or public parks and be at a safe distance from roads and houses to avoid possible complaints.
Bureaucracy. We need to give Notice of initiation to the City and request any building permit if you want to achieve masonry buildings for changing rooms, showers, bar ...
The testimony
"Game and funny business»
Five years ago on a trip with a friend in South Africa and the discovery of paintball. So Christian Alimonti returns to Rome and decided to open one of the first areas to rural scenery of Italy with more than 4,000 members. Given the success of a few months ago, opened on their own a golf speedball, 46 x 28 m, on a grandfather's near the University of Tor Vergata.
How were the beginnings?
"I have invested 15 thousand Euros for the purchase of materials. Through word of mouth in the pool, where I teach swimming, and online advertising on the portal www.yumping.it I've seen players get right. On weekends we have an average of 70 people and now the target is to attract school children and the nearby university to take advantage of the field on weekday afternoons. For them will lower prices to 14.50 euro per hour, including paintball 280 per person. "
You can live paintball?
"You do not become Scrooge 'Scrooge but we can not complain. If you give us to do, at the end of the month will take home a salary of € 1,500-2,000. And if in the future the paintball will be able to become an Olympic sport, there will be an explosion of the phenomenon. "
A word of advice for our readers?
"It takes a lot of passion ... I myself have been an avid player. Then I decided to make us a business, overcoming all the difficulties due to the absence of legislation. "
